Womb Sound is made by Frekvens AS, Norway. Frekvens AS is the controller for the data described here. Questions: hello@wombsound.com.
The short version
- No account. We never ask for your name or email.
- Your settings stay on your device.
- Anonymous usage analytics help us improve the app. No ads, no tracking across apps or websites. You can turn analytics off in Settings.
- The microphone (Listening) is analysed on your device, in memory. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent.
- Purchases are handled by Apple.
In the app
Settings. Your chosen sounds, heartbeat, timers and preferences are stored on your device only.
Usage analytics. The app sends anonymous events, such as which sound was played or which screen was opened, with a random identifier that is not linked to you. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location or advertising identifier, and we do not sell or share data for advertising. The data is processed in the EU. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by turning analytics off in the app's Settings.
Listening (microphone). Listening is optional and only works if you allow microphone access in iOS. While it is on, the app measures the sound level in the room on your device, in memory, to hear when your baby stirs. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive only what is needed to confirm that a purchase is valid, never your name or payment details. Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
On this website
The web player makes the sound inside your browser. The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and does not use your microphone. Your browser's request, including your IP address, is processed only to deliver the page. A few player preferences (sound, volume, timer) are saved in your own browser's storage and never leave your device.
Retention
Anonymous analytics are kept only as long as they are useful for improving the app, and then deleted. Emails you send us are kept while we help you and deleted when no longer needed.
Children
Womb Sound is used by parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because analytics are anonymous, we usually cannot link them to you; write to us and we will help as far as we can. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or the authority where you live.

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date below.
